Mutualink Wins Unified Communications Product of The Year Award

Wallingford, CT — Continuing its impressive and growing list of prestigious product innovation and homeland security awards, Mutualink was recently named by TMC, a global integrated media company, as a winner of Unified Communications magazine 2010 Unified  Communications Product of the Year awards. Mutualink is a pioneer in developing a dynamic peer based real-time communications and multimedia interoperability solution for homeland security and homeland defense markets.  Mutualink is a distributed peer based solution with no  central servers or switches, and provides secure on-demand interoperability with disparate  two-way radio, telephone, mobile and satellite phones, real-time streaming video and information sharing.         Mutualink enables public  safety and  first  responder agencies and  critical infrastructure entities, such as hospitals, schools, stadiums, utilities and   emergency   agencies, to communicate, collaborate and coordinate their planning, response and recovery  operations during emergencies.

The Unified Communications Product of the Year award,  along with recently winning the GSN  Best Homeland Security Product award and APCO’s Hot Product of the Year Award, shows industry wide recognition of Mutualink’s truly unique and innovative capabilities, said Mark  Hatten, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Mutualink.  “Our solution is low cost, proven and incredibly powerful.  Mutualink is a solution that can solve not only existing baseline interoperability challenges, but offers an agile and effective platform for creating an always on – always available, real-time common operating picture with command and control coupled with cross agency collaboration capabilities at an operational  level.  Through Mutualink, communities and  regional areas  can  quickly and  affordably build a new  level of resiliency by leveraging existing infrastructure to create bridgeable ad-hoc unified interoperable voice communications, video and information sharing,” Hatten explained. Mark Hatten expressed Mutualink’s appreciation for the award stating, “We are honored and grateful to have received such a prestigious award.  We thank Unified Communications magazine and its expert judges for recognizing the innovation, value and capability Mutualink offers in a vitally important area.”

Mutualink, in addition to enabling seamless communications between conventional and trunked  analog and digital radios, mobile, satellite and Nextel phones, and PBX systems, enables real-time streaming video sharing, file sharing and text messaging, making it the most advanced  tool for creating a real-time information rich communications environment for first responder and emergency management agencies.  Mutualink also introduced the industry’s first  smartphone powered mobile interoperable gateway device, enabling real-time dispatch with command and control from the field along with 2-way video sharing.  Mutualink is unique in its ability to preserve an agency’s autonomy and control over its communications assets through its switchless architecture.  With Mutualink, there is no central server or trusted third party required, preserving essential sovereign control over information and participation required by agencies thereby ensuring that each agency does not lose control over its communications assets and resources.

Products of the Year Award winners are published in the April 2011 issue of Unified Communications magazine.
