James Lee Witt and Gen. Wesley Clark (Ret.) Join Mutualink Advisory Board

Washington, D.C. Mutualink, Inc., a Connecticut based company specializing in advanced interoperable communications  solutions for public safety and emergency management, announced that James Lee Witt, Chief Executive Officer, James Lee Witt Associates and former Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and General Wesley Clark (Ret.), Chairman and CEO of Wesley K. Clark and Associates, LLC and former U.S. Army 4 star General and NATO Supreme Allied Commander, have joined Mutualink’s advisory board.

Witt served as Director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency from 1993 to 2001, and is currently the Chief Executive Officer of James Lee Witt Associates, a crisis management and preparedness services consulting firm based in Washington, D.C. Witt Associates, a part of GlobalOptions Group, Inc. provides disaster recovery and mitigation management services to state and local governments, educational institutions, the international community and corporations.

General Wesley K. Clark (Ret.)

General Wesley K. Clark (Ret.) is one of the nation's most distinguished retired military officers. During his thirty-three years of service in the United States Army, he held numerous staff and command positions and rose to the rank of 4-star general and NATO Supreme Allied Commander. A candidate for the presidency in 2003, General Clark is now Senior Advisor, Witt Associates and also chairman and CEO of Wesley K. Clark & Associates, a strategic advisory and consulting firm, serves on the boards of several private corporations and non-profit organizations and comments regularly on politics, diplomacy and public affairs.

Witt and Clark and their consulting firms will provide Mutualink with business advisory and emergency preparedness and disaster management advisory services, and will assist the company in promoting the nationwide adoption of its affordable multimedia interoperable emergency communications sharing solution for nationwide emergency preparedness and response.  They join former 4 Star General Barry McCaffrey (Ret.) and former White House Advisor Rob Housman on Mutualink’s powerhouse advisory board.

Mutualink’s interoperable emergency communications solution enables participants to seamlessly share communication resources with each other on an emergency incident basis providing enhanced situational awareness and a more effective emergency response environment as contemplated by the National Incident Management System (NIMS), National Response Framework (NRF) and the National Emergency Communications Plan (NECP).  The system is designed with a novel distributed peer architecture which employs an intelligent "plug and play" design that allows existing two-way radio, telephone, voice, video and data to be instantly linked together in a secure, real-time environment.  Most significantly, the system’s affordability enables the kind of broad participation among public safety entities as well as critical infrastructure and key resources within communities envisioned by the National Emergency Policy.

According to Mark Hatten, CEO of Mutualink, the addition of James Lee Witt and General (Ret.) Wesley Clark represent another major step forward in Mutualink’s continuing growth and success.  "We are incredibly excited to have Mr. Witt and General Clark join our team.  They are highly distinguished leaders with outstanding records of achievement that few can match.  Mutualink is very fortunate to be able to benefit from their invaluable knowledge and experience, and we are confident their participation will propel Mutualink forward in exciting ways," said Hatten.
